Cin7 Core is getting you ready for Black Friday with even more amazing improvements! This release includes enhancements to Cin7 Pay, Shopify, ForesightAI reporting, QuickBooks Online, Xero, document templates, and even more.

API

Cin7 Core API error code 503 is now 429

Cin7 Core will now use the HTTP 429 (too many requests) error code for API throttling responses. Previously, Cin7 Core would return the HTTP 503 (Service unavailable) error code. This will only change in the Cin7 Core API (Inventory), other integrations are not impacted.

Cin7 Pay

Add surcharges to Cin7 Pay

You can now pass on payment processing fees to your customers with surcharges in Cin7 Pay. You can set surcharges for:

  • Each payment method type (e.g. card, wallet, bank debit, etc.).
  • Fixed amounts (e.g. charge an additional $1 for using a card).
  • Variable rates (e.g. charge 1.5% to pay by card).
  • Blended rates (e.g. charge 1.5% + $0.30).

Surcharges are posted to the designated surcharge account at time of payment. You can also stay accurate with your accounting system by selecting the income account for your surcharges.

Cin7 Pay document templates

Now, it is even easier to use Cin7 Pay with document templates!
We've added six new templates with the Cin7 Pay button:

  • Sale Quote Cin7Pay
  • Sale Quote Matrix Cin7Pay
  • Sales order Cin7Pay
  • Sales Order Matrix Cin7Pay
  • Invoice Cin7Pay
  • Invoice Matrix Cin7Pay

This won't update any of your existing custom templates, but you can add the Cin7 Pay button with MailMerge.

Document templates

Pick zone MailMerge field for document templates

You can now include the product Pick zone into your document templates. The new MailMerge field {PickZone} is available for the following templates:

  • Product Label (Inventory Adjustment and Transfer)
  • Product Specification

If a product doesn't have a Pick Zone, the field will appear blank.

Schedule ForesightAI reports

You can now use all ForesightAI reports for Report Scheduling. This includes the Winners and Losers, Sales Forecast, Overstock, and Stockout reports.

Purchase Orders

Improved shipping address handling on purchase orders

When you create or update a purchase order and select a Location, Cin7 Core will now copy the address from that location into the Shipping Address field.

This applies to Simple Purchase, Advanced Purchase, and Service Purchase orders (not Dropship Purchases, which still use the sale shipping address).

QuickBooks Online

Import customers/suppliers with the QuickBooks Online wizard

You can now import customers and suppliers with the QuickBooks Online wizard. This means you can quickly bring over most of your QuickBooks Online data during the setup in Cin7 Core.

Sync QuickBooks Online lock date

Cin7 Core will now automatically sync the lock date with QuickBooks Online. If a transaction is before the lock date, Cin7 Core will mark this as Failed to prevent unnecessary API calls.

You must set your lock date within QuickBooks Online (not Cin7 Core). Previously, this had to be done manually in both Cin7 Core and QuickBooks Online.

You can now export the Audit report when you select the Security filter. Select the Export button to include your filtered Security audit data.

Authorize order with Sale is created

You can now set up automation to authorize a sales order when it is created. We've added the authorize order action to the Sale is created event.

New setting for recurring invoice prices

You can now choose how prices are applied when generating recurring invoices. This gives you the flexibility to decide whether recurring invoices should keep past prices or always use the most up-to-date ones.

In the Sale process customization settings, we've added a new setting for Recurring invoice price. You can select either:

  • Copy previous price
    This will copy prices from the last invoice (default).
  • Use product price
    This will use the latest product prices based on the customer's price tier or custom price.

Bill parent customer

You can now track which customers have a parent company managing their billing. There's a new Bill parent checkbox available in Customer. When selected, the parent company's Billing address will appear on the child customer's Addresses tab. Sales orders for any children will automatically include the parent customer's Billing address.

Shopify

Enhanced filtering for Pending orders, Operations log, and Log

You can now refine and filter your Pending orders, Operations log, and Log lists. You can filter by:

  • Date for Pending orders, Operations log, and Log Log has additional date filters, including By date, Download date, and Process date. You can select only one of these at a time
  • Type for Operations log and Log
  • Category for Operations log

The Logs will now only export what you have searched for or filtered.

New Channel order type field for Shopify sales orders

We’ve added a new read-only field for all sales orders from Shopify. Now, the Channel order type field will show you the related Shopify order type.

Previously, you could only record the Shopify order type in a custom attribute when you enabled the Import Shopify order type setting. We recommend adjusting any reports, automations, or workflow customizations to use the new Channel order type field instead of the custom attribute. We will deprecate the Import Shopify order type setting in the next six months.

We will add Shopify Business orders as a new channel type in future.

User permissions

Subscription user permissions

You can decide who can manage your subscription and subscription details with a range of new user permissions. Under the Subscription user permissions, there are four new permissions:

  • Subscription AND onboarding details
    Controls the access to the My Subscription page.
  • Update subscription
    Controls access to Update subscription, Switch to Annual plan, Renew subscription, and Buy Onboarding package options.
  • Payment history
    Controls access to the Payment history tab where all payment records can be viewed and invoices downloaded.
  • Change billing address
    Controls whether the user can update the billing address and card details for your Cin7 Core account.

Edit Customer Credit Limit user permission

You can control who can change the customer Credit limit with the Customer – Edit credit limit (under Sale). Users without this permission can see but not edit the Credit limit. This will also apply to CSV imports.
Users with full access to Customers – List and details will have this permission by default.
